About the client
The Town Hall of Ghissignies, a local authority in northern France committed to serving and informing its citizens, had been facing persistent problems with its existing website.
The municipal team in place was not trained in the technical aspects that website management can sometimes require, and technical problems were beginning to arise.
The original developer had become unreachable, so they needed to start again on a solid footing.
Project requirements and challenges
The situation was complex, as the current site presented major difficulties: problems with email delivery, an inability to effectively modify the site’s content due to a lack of support from the original developer, and an urgent need to improve the user experience and overall design of the site.
The most pressing challenge of this project was to resolve technical issues related to emails and to implement a more efficient subscriber management system.
In addition, the site required a complete overhaul of the user interface to make navigation smooth and intuitive. It was also necessary to ensure that the municipal team could easily update the site’s content without having to rely on external technical assistance.
Another challenge was ensuring a smooth transition from the old site to the new one, preserving existing resources while significantly improving performance and user-friendliness.
Certain features have also been improved, such as the implementation of a calendar to easily showcase events in the municipality.

Results
A new robust and modern WordPress site has been designed for this project.
Email deliverability has been enhanced to enable the Town Hall to communicate effectively with citizens.
A subscriber list system has also been set up to facilitate contact management and targeted information distribution.
The redesign of the user interface and design has created an aesthetically appealing and user-friendly website, offering visitors a seamless experience. Navigation and information architecture have been redesigned to make access to essential information more intuitive.
Finally, a series of 15 customised video tutorials was delivered, in addition to remote interviews to help the municipal team get to grips with all the non-technical aspects of the site.
This initiative has strengthened their autonomy and confidence in the day-to-day management of the site. A video Q&A session has also been planned to help those in charge feel comfortable with the new tools.
The IT outsourcing service subscribed to by the town hall guarantees them the smooth running of the website in the long term and dedicated technical support when needed.
