Questions
What are the technical specifications of the server hosting my Nextcloud instance?
Depending on the package you choose, your server resources will vary to suit your needs. For information, the Nextcloud Starter package includes a server with 4 vCPUs and 8 GB of dedicated RAM, which is more than enough for collaborative tasks in small groups. For larger workgroups, the resources increase, which partly explains the difference in price. The Stratosphere package includes four times more resources: 16 vCPUs and 32 GB of RAM.
Why are your maintenance fees higher than some offers at 30€/month?
Because I do not offer a simple automated update, but comprehensive and responsible management of your website on a controlled infrastructure.
Are my emails likely to end up in the junk mail folder?
Your mailboxes are hosted on a server optimised exclusively for sending and receiving emails. Unlike some providers who mix web and mail servers, everything is done to ensure that the sending IP address maintains an excellent reputation.
In addition, the initial DNS configuration of your domains is included in all packages to maximise deliverability.
Although I do everything I can to ensure that your emails reach your recipients’ inboxes, perfect deliverability can never be 100% guaranteed due to external spam filters.
Can I store and share other types of files in Cryptpad, such as images or videos?
Yes, although Cryptpad focuses on document editing, you can also store and share any other type of file in your folders.
Why have limits on sending/receiving when these limits do not exist elsewhere?
Many email hosting providers do not specify limits on your email sending or receiving quotas. However, other providers generally limit the number of email accounts you can have and do not offer as many options, such as account aliases and domain aliases, which are very useful advanced features.
Even if these limits seem restrictive, experience shows that customers never reach them. Remember that a limit of 200 emails sent per day means that you must send 200 different emails in 24 hours to reach it (each email can have multiple recipients). In general, we rarely send more than 20 emails in a day. Multiply this number by the number of employees you have to get an idea of the plan that suits you best.
What does the management interface for my email accounts look like?
The interface is fairly minimalist, but allows you to manage all the settings for your mailboxes, aliases, usage quotas, etc. in detail. You will have access to several videos that explain step by step how to perform the most common operations. What’s more, you’ll benefit from technical support, so you can ask any questions you like and get help if you need it.
Can I set up an automatic reply for when I am on holiday?
Yes, this option is available. You can enter your holiday start and end dates, as well as a message that will be automatically sent in response to anyone who writes to you during this period.
Can I create new email accounts myself?
Yes, you will have administrator access to a web interface to manage all your email accounts. You can create new mailboxes or aliases in just a few clicks, manage your passwords, or invite a colleague to choose their password when creating an account.
How do I check my email?
You can use your mailboxes in email software such as Thunderbird (recommended) or Outlook. It is also possible to view them online in webmail.
Can I change my email plan mid-contract?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your email hosting package at any time upon request, provided that the disk space used corresponds to the downgraded package. For monthly subscriptions, the request must be made before the monthly invoice is renewed. For annual subscriptions, a pro-rata credit will be issued for the remaining credit when you change your package.
I don't know which offer to choose, or whether it really meets my/our needs.
No worries. Explain your requirements in the registration form, along with the approximate number of users, and I will get back to you with advice. If the solution is not suitable for your situation, I will let you know. You can also call me directly to discuss it in person, or book a video call at a time that suits you.
Can I try it for free before purchasing?
Yes, you can test an application for 7 days with no obligation. An instance will be created for you, and if at the end of the trial you do not wish to continue, you will receive a refund within a few days. The data will be completely deleted.
How do I migrate my data from my old service to Nextcloud?
Are you switching to Nextcloud and want to transfer your data? No problem, a tool allows you to quickly import your data from several common proprietary solutions:
- From Google, you can import all your calendars, contacts, photos, files, and even Google Docs into Nextcloud Hub.
- You can import all your data from Dropbox.
- The same applies to One Drive.
- There is also a tool for migrating from ownCloud.

Is it possible to change your current offer?
Of course, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. If you pay monthly, your request must be made before your next invoice is renewed. For annual commitments, you can also make the request during the year, prorated for the months already used. If you downgrade your plan, you will need to ensure that your used disk space does not exceed the new limit.
What is the difference between SSD and HDD?
SSD drives are much more powerful than older HDD drives. They are also silent, but you won’t be able to tell for yourself. Having SSD drives therefore allows much faster access to your data than with older HDD drives. This increased performance comes at a higher cost, but is necessary to ensure good performance for your application.
I don't know which domain name to choose or how to order it. What should I do?
I can give you advice and suggestions for your domain name, and check availability with you.
I will also assist you in registering it correctly, in your name. It is essential that you remain the owner of your domain name, to ensure you have control over the digital identity of your professional activity.
I'm not sure what to write or how to present my services on my future website. Can you help me?
Better than that, I will write the text for you, based on the information I gather during our discussions and strategic research on your competitors and best web practices for your business.

Why create a website when I already have a presence on social networks?
A website allows you to reach any Internet user, regardless of the social networks used. It is also a space over which you have control and are not dependent on a recommendation algorithm. Even today, the first reflex when looking for a professional is to do a search in your search engine, especially for a local activity!
Why pay for your website maintenance?
You’re not just paying for standard maintenance. Many freelancers offer WordPress maintenance for just a few dozen euros per month. In reality, in 90% of cases, you’ll be paying someone for nothing because they’ll have activated automatic updates for your plugins and won’t do anything else.
The service I offer includes updating your extensions and the WordPress core in a secure environment (in case of incompatibility, the error is corrected immediately), but also high-quality hosting (I don’t host your site on a low-cost shared server with 200 other sites; you are on a professional managed server powered 100% by renewable energy, reserved for my clients).
In the unlikely event that your site has an availability issue, I am automatically notified within a minute and resolve the problem before you or your customers even notice. Your site is backed up daily in a redundant manner (on multiple physical media in several separate geographical locations).
I use premium extensions for which I pay the licenses, except for projects that require a specific extension, which would then be specified in the creation quote.

How much will my website cost as a freelance?
The cost of the service will depend on your needs and expectations, the amount of content (and therefore pages) to be created and optimised for your business, and the features to be implemented.
For a standard custom business website with a few customised pages, a contact form and an appointment booking system, you should expect to pay around €2000.
My site is already hosted elsewhere. Can you take it over?
Yes, I can migrate it to my servers for you at no extra cost.
If you wish to remain on your original hosting provider, I cannot guarantee the correct operation, performance, or security of your site.
Of course, this remains a possibility, but bear in mind that it’s the server that ensures the performance and protection of a website above all, and not the plugins.
